Audi 100 Coupé S

The beautifully designed Coupé from 1975 is a true collector's item from a renowned restorer of older Audi models. Our pioneering customer was curious to see how the driving experience of the classic car would change if a modern, battery-operated electric motor powered the coupé and provided the car with absolute torque from the outset instead of a combustion engine. Since the original and correspondingly old engine mounts would not reliably support the weight of a powerful electric motor, the experienced in-house locksmith equipped the Audi with tailor-made mounts. The TV station "Kabel 1" followed the electric conversion of the Audi 100 Coupé, including all hurdles and solutions, through our dedicated team. The article "Electric car: Conversion instead of new purchase" from the series "Abenteuer Leben" can be seen on our website and in the Kabel 1 media library:

An engine output of 50/80 kW provides the Audi 100 Coupé with a brisk start and enables a remarkable top speed of 180 km/h. The customer was particularly interested in an excellent and reliable acceleration when retrofitting the powerful electric motor.

The battery capacity of 37 kWh installed in the rear of the vehicle guarantees a range of approx. 225 km. The batteries are fully recharged within four hours. These basic data fit excellently into the driving habits of our customer. All relevant parameters of the new electric drive system are displayed in the original dashboard with discreet round instruments that match the original look.

The presence of a camera team for the entire period of the conversion was of course a challenge for our team. But the fear of the camera was quickly overcome during the demanding electrical conversion and in the end we are proud of the successful conclusion to the satisfaction of the customer and of the strong appearance of our team in front of the TV viewers.
